Analysis
As part of a nationwide charity, Craven Home Start are left to fend for themselves when it comes to a web presence. I was happy to help set up a landing page for them, to supplement their web content.
I introduced them to free tools to be able to host their website, as it didn't require any major functionality. All branding was provided , as was imagery. In terms of branding this was a simple project.
Design
In terms of design, the site need sections of content and a contact form. I made it easy to navigate these sections by including a navigation bar at the top of the page, to ensure users to see the content they needed quickly. After that it was a case of ensuring users could contact Craven Home Start as soon as possible to access the services they offer. A strategically placed Call to Action was designed to aid that goal.
Development
I would usually use WordPress for website builds, however, I felt this would be overkill here. I decided to use a framework called 11ty to produce the site, and hosted it on a free service called Netlify. This cut the costs down for the charity, but also fit not needed any major functionality within the site.
Conclusion
Craven Home Start were really pleased with their new web page and somewhere to send their users for more information should they need it . For me it was a pleasure to give something back to a really valuable community service.
